OnePlus One, the first smartphone to have been designed specifically for the CyanogenMod platform, has started shipping, the Chinese handset vendor has announced.

A few days ago, the company said that shipments of the device would be postponed due to a vulnerability that was discovered in its operating system, but it seems that the issue was patched faster than initially expected.

Apparently, the aforementioned issue with the CyanogenMod build on this device was related to the Heartbleed OpenSSL vulnerability that was discovered to affect a great deal of devices earlier this year.

However, the team behind the platform has already patched the security hole, and the phone is now being dispatched to those who already ordered it.

“We did choose to delay the shipment of the first phones in order to make sure the software was secure and provided the best possible user experience. The CyanogenMod team worked very quickly and efficiently and the Open SSL issues have already been fixed,” the phone maker said, as Android Authority reports.

OnePlus One was made official in April with a 5.5-inch screen, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 8974-AC processor, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB / 64GB of internal memory. The handset is powered by a 3100mAh battery and is priced highly affordable when compared to other flagship phones.
