The latest Android-based member of the Xperia family will not arrive on shelves at wireless carrier Vodafone UK, though other carriers in the country will add it to their offerings.

Apparently Vodafone customers will not be able to purchase the new device on their wireless carrier’s network, though no specific info on why things are so has emerged.

However, users in the UK will be able to acquire the new mobile phone on the airwaves of Three, as well as via O2. Online retailer Phones 4U will also offer the smartphone.

No specific details on when the new mobile phone should be released, or the price tag it might feature, have emerged so far.

Xperia S was made official at CES 2012 in Las Vegas with a large 4.3-inch HD display, a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU, 32GB of internal memory, and a 12MP camera on the back.
