Nvidia has been long targeting the mobile space with its processors, and it appears that a new candidate is in for the role of powering the next-generation superphones.

The company has just unveiled that its Kepler desktop and mobile GPU will be arriving to new markets in the near future, and that the silicon will also power upcoming flagship smartphones.

“Today is just the beginning of Kepler. Because of its super energy-efficient architecture, we will extend GPUs into datacenters, to super thin notebooks, to superphones,” NVIDIA's CEO Jensen H Huang told the company’s employees, AnandTech reports.

What exactly the company has in mind when it comes to packing Kepler inside these mobile devices, it remains to be seen.

In the meantime, however, enthusiasts can rest assured that more goodies will be coming their way soon.
