Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has decided to retire one of the applications that it released for the owners of Windows Phone 8 devices last year, namely the Nokia Place Tag, which enabled users to come up with virtual postcards through adding location info on top of photos.

According to WPCentral, Nokia announced that it had received a lot of feedback on the software, and that “embedding actionable metadata in photographs is in general definitely a good idea.”

Moreover, the email that Nokia sent out also noted that “this type of functionality should be integrated in the default capturing + viewing flow,” which suggests that the company might have decided to integrate Place Tag in Nokia Camera.

No confirmation on such plans has been provided as of now, but this is a possibility, that’s for sure. Hopefully, more on the matter will be provided soon, so stay tuned for additional details on the matter.
