Last week, we saw the first Nokia application listed in the Windows Phone Marketplace, yet it seems that there will be more of them, and the emergence of a Nokia Maps placeholder in the storefront is a proof of that.

Most probably, the mobile application will be pre-installed on upcoming Nokia Windows Phones, but will be available for other handsets too, and will provide users with free access to Nokia's location service.

“Nokia Maps helps you to be a local anywhere you go. See where you are and discover places nearby in a snap. Get reviews, uncover new destinations and reach them with smart routing for public transport, walking and driving,” the app's description reads.

For the time being, only the placeholder is present in the Marketplace, for testing purposes, it seems, yet the app itself should become available soon, so stay tuned.
