Many of you probably know that Nokia has already announced that its Lumia smartphones powered by Windows Phone 8 will receive an additional update, beside the already confirmed Windows Phone 8.1 upgrade.

The update will be called Lumia Cyan and is expected to arrive on all compatible Lumia smartphones soon after the Windows Phone 8.1 update goes live.

According to the latest hearsay, Microsoft might release Windows Phone 8.1 for the general public on June 24 or around that timeframe, so we expect Lumia Cyan to arrive after that date.

Anyway, among the new features that Lumia Cyan will bring to all compatible Windows Phone handsets there is a dedicated brightness slider, which means that users will be able to juggle with their phones’ brightness as they see fit.

For those unfamiliar, Nokia Lumia smartphones now come with Low, Medium and High settings, as well as Automatic. But if these are not enough, as soon as Lumia Cyan update arrives, users will be able to take advantage of this brightness slider.

As Geeksongadgets points out, you will be able to access this new brightness slider from Nokia’s advanced Screen Settings add-on. All Nokia smartphones that come with Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box also include Lumia Cyan by default.
