Although Vodafone Australia previously rolled out firmware 12070 for Lumia 800 more than three weeks ago, it seems that a bug prevented a wide-scale deployment of the update.

Today, the carrier announces that the bug has been fixed and that the new firmware is currently being pushed to all Nokia Lumia 800 units purchased from its stores.

Given the fact that this is a bug fix update, it’s recommended to install it as soon as it becomes available. Even though it will not affect the overall experience of the user, the firmware 12070 brings consistent improvements and enhancements.

Aside from the fact that it will improve the battery life, the newly released update improves charger detection and refreshes camera settings. With firmware 12070, camera automatically detects 50/60Hz to remove flicker in stills and videos.

According to Vodafone, the update is rolled out in stages over the next 24 days, so make sure you have the “Notify me when new updates are found” option turned ON.
