The smartphone wasn't on the list of confirmed devices

The Lumia 1320 is one of the many smartphones that haven't been confirmed to receive Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2, so we always thought that it would be upgraded directly to Windows 10 Mobile.

But here is a nice surprise, as MSMobile.pl reports Microsoft has kicked off the rollout of Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 for Lumia 1320.

According to the cited source, Lumia 1320 is now getting software version 8.10.15137.148, which is the same that released for other smartphones like BLU Win HD, Prestigio 8500 Duo, Yezz Billy 4.7, and will soon arrive on Nokia Lumia 635 too.

If more Microsoft smartphones will start getting Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 in the coming weeks, there's a high chance that all Lumia handsets will receive it by the time Windows 10 Mobile gets released later this year.

Anyway, Lumia 1320 owners should start checking for Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 on their smartphone, which is about 545MB in size.

Here is what to expect after upgrading to Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2: MKV support for video playback, Reset Protection security feature, app permission toggles, Bluetooth HID support for external keyboard, Reorganized Settings screen with categories and search, along with the option to pin individual settings to the Start screen.
