Canadian wireless carrier TELUS has started to deliver the Nokia Black update to the owners of Nokia Lumia 625 smartphones on its network, Nokia has unveiled on its support website.

The update will provide users with a variety of enhancements coming from Nokia itself, as well as with all the features that Microsoft has packed inside the Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update.

Among these, we can count a new unified Nokia Camera, performance tweaks, better camera capabilities, and updated software, such as App Folder and Refocus, as MobileSyrup notes.

The update is set to arrive on other Nokia Lumia smartphones in Canada in the not too distant future, though no specific info on when it will start rolling out has been provided as of now.

As for Lumia 625 users, they should head over to Settings > Phone update and check on the availability of the new release for them.
