The handset arrives on shelves as a basic communication device

Today, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has made a new handset available for purchase in India, namely the Nokia 106, one of the most affordable devices in its offering.

The handset is currently up for grabs through the official Nokia Shop with a price tag of only Rs. 1,399 ($22.6/€16.3) attached to it, as fonearena notes.

Nokia 106 is a basic phone that can prove a great option for users who are not looking for anything else than a simple communication device.

It sports a 1.8-inch (160 x 128 pixels) TFT screen, an 800 mAh BL-5CB battery that can deliver up to 35 days of standby time, FM Radio, multiple alarm clock capabilities, and 32-polyphonic ringtones.

The handset runs under Series 30 OS, measures 112.9 x 47.5 x 14.9 mm, and weighs 74.2 grams, with the battery included.
