Nokia won’t make its next-generation Lumia or PureView devices waterproof, the company has confirmed.

Reports that the Finnish handset vendor would plan on making such a move made it online, yet it seems that they were not reflecting reality.

The company’s VP for Western Europe, Conor Pierce, did talk about Nokia's research, including its work on waterproof coating, but did not say that future devices would sport the feature, it seems.

Nokia has already offered clarification on the matter, stating that “he did not say that Superhydrophobic coatings would be coming to future Pureview and Lumia devices,” TheVerge reports.

Of course, the idea of having Lumia and PureView waterproof devices available in the near future sounds extremely appealing, but it seems that it will take some time before the vendor does make a move in that direction.
