Nexus 4, the latest Android-based smartphone to have been included in the popular Nexus lineup, is now available for purchase for $100 less in the United States, and has seen similar price cuts in other markets around the world as well.

Following the discount, the 8GB flavor of Nexus 4 is available for purchase in the US at only $199 (€148), down from $299 (€223), while the 16GB model is priced at $249 (€186), being discounted from $349 (€260).

The price cut was performed in markets such as Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, Korea, and the UK as well, Google announced in a tweet.

As Engadget notes, the price drop could signal the upcoming unveiling of the next handset in the Nexus series, supposedly called Nexus 5 and expected to be made by LG (also said to be based on the recently launched LG G2 flagship).
