There’s a new e-book application for Android devices in the Android Market. Developed by txtr, “Foyles ebooks” allows users to read their documents stored in their eLibrary directly from their smartphones.

Even though it cannot be compared with Amazon’s app yet, Android enthusiasts should find the time to try this one out. “Foyles ebooks” offers users the possibility to read and buy books in EPUB and PDF format.

It is also worth mentioning that the application supports Adobe DRM system, which is a must for most publishers and books available in the market.

Although the application has received mixed reviews from users, due to several bugs that have been reported, it looks like the developers were quick to deliver an update, which addressed some of these issues.

“Foyles ebooks” is now available as a free download in the Android Market and should be compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up.
