Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is getting ready for the release of new software updates for two of its handsets, namely the Sony Xperia Z1s and Sony Xperia T2 Ultra, and the company has already had the new firmware iterations certified.

As the guys over at XperiaBlog report, Xperia Z1s (C6916) has seen software version 14.4.B.0.37 certified for it at PTCRB. Unfortunately, no specific info on what the new update might bring along to the handset has been provided as of now.

Previously, the mobile phone saw firmware version 14.4.B.0.20 receiving the necessary approvals, which suggests that the new update might not include major changes compared to that one.

The same applies to the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra (D5303) handset as well, as the newly-certified software for it marks only a small change in build number compared to the previous one.

To be more precise, PTCRB shows that Sony might be getting ready to release software version 19.1.A.0.474 to it, up from build number 19.1.A.0.473.

According to said news site, chances are that the Japanese vendor is currently preparing to roll out KitKat updates to its devices and that the newly-certified software could have something to do with that. Sony will certainly provide some info on these updates soon, so stay tuned to learn more on the matter.
