It will be based on the NFC capabilities of Android devices

One of the enhancements that the upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat is expected to arrive with is a built-in payment system, which has been confirmed once again via a leaked screenshot with the platform.

Available courtesy of Italian blog TuttoAndroid, said screenshots unveil a certain “Tap & Pay” feature inside the platform, which is said to take advantage of the NFC capabilities of devices.

What remains to be seen is whether the capability will indeed make it inside the official Android 4.4 release, which is expected to become available as soon as the next week.

Said screenshots reportedly come from Android 4.4 build KRS92B, with Kernel 3.4.0.

Android 4.4 KitKat is also said to arrive with revamped location settings, and it should bring various other enhancements as well. Stay tuned for more on the matter.
