Wireless carrier NTT DoCoMo announced last month a series of new handsets headed for its network, and the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE was among them.

The handset, officially unveiled just before September's IFA show in Berlin, is expected to become available for the wireless carrier before the end of this year, and has just been spotted at the FCC.

NTT DoCoMo's Galaxy S II LTE sports the model number of SC-03D and arrives on shelves with a 1.5GHz CPU, as well as with a large 4.5-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a WVGA resolution.

The mobile phone will offer support for GPRS and EDGE networks, as well as with HSPA and LTE capabilities.

The handset runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and should offer support for a great deal of applications and services.
