Mobile phone maker Motorola is reportedly working together with Google for the release of a large smartphone, one that could land on shelves with a 5.9-inch touchscreen display, sometime in November.

The handset is reportedly aimed at all major wireless carriers in the United States, and should also land on shelves at other carriers around the world, on markets where Nexus devices are already available for purchase.

Apparently, the mobile phone has already been spotted in the Google issue tracker, and is expected to be released as a new product in the already popular Nexus series of smartphones.

In fact, the device’s codename, Shamu, is also pointing at it being a new Nexus phone, while leaked info on it suggests that it will run under Android L when made available, a recent post on Android Police reads.

Given that no official confirmation on the handset has been provided as of now, you should take the info with a grain of salt.

However, Motorola Shamu’s targeted release timeframe falls in line with the usual launch window for new Nexus phones, and it would not come too much as a surprise if it actually panned out in the end. Keep an eye on this space for more on the matter.
