Motorola assured its fans it will deploy an Ice Cream Sandwich update for the RAZR during the second quarter of the year.

Although we’re not there yet, the US-based company decided to bring European Motorola RAZRs to Android 2.3.6.

The European branch Motorola confirmed for Eurodroid that the update will be pushed OTA (over the air) starting today. The company said the following countries will be among the first to get it: Italy, France, Spain and UK.

According to Motorola, the new update brings “new Smart Actions sample rules like VIP Caller Mode and Auto Text SMS, as well as improved camera performance and better battery life.”

The update may include other changes as well, like bug fixes and overall performance improvements, but this has yet to be confirmed by Motorola RAZR users.
