Mobile phone maker Motorola Mobility is getting ready to kick off a new “soak test” for the DROID Bionic on the airwaves of Verizon, some of the latest reports on the web suggest.

There are no specific details available on what the handset vendor is getting ready to deliver to its users, but rumor has it that it might be nothing more than a maintenance update.

In all fairness, there is also the possibility that Motorola is already considering the release of Ice Cream Sandwich for the device, though this is only a supposition for the time being.

Motorola has already confirmed plans to make the Ice Cream Sandwich update available for a series of DROID smartphones, but the company has yet to announce official details on the availability of this update. With the soak test almost underway, additional info should emerge soon, so stay tuned.
