Boost Mobile customers who own the Moto G will be pleased to know Motorola has just announced it has kicked off the rollout of the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the budget-friendly smartphone.

Motorola's Punit Soni confirmed his company is now deploying the update OTA (over the air) in stages, which means not all Moto G owners might receive it at the same time.

Aside from bumping the smartphone's software to version 4.4, the latest update brings lots of new features and improvements such as: improved phone dialer, new photo editing options to the Gallery app, as well as added support for printing photos, Google Docs, Gmail messages and other content via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other hosted services.

A new version of Hangouts app is now incorporated into the phone's software and supports integrated SMS/MMS messaging. Support for Square credit card reader is included as well.
