Launched on the market last year, Motorola FIRE XT is a budget-friendly Android smartphone, which is now available in most regions of the world. For some reason, the handset maker decided to release the handset under different names, depending on the location.

Although Motorola FIRE XT is also known as XT531 or SPICE XT, all versions have similar hardware and software configurations.

However, the folks over at AndroidOS have just learned that the Indian variant of the Motorola FIRE XT is currently getting a maintenance update, which will bump the phone’s firmware to Android 2.3.5.

Apparently there’s no change log available for the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread update for the Motorola FIRE XT yet. Still, the updates might improve the phone’s battery life and bring a few more enhancements.

It is also worth mentioning that the update is only available via Motorola Software Update tool, which means it’s not pushed OTA (over the air).
