The Xbox One companion application for Windows Phone devices, SmartGlass, has just received a small update that brings a few new features and improvements.

Microsoft keeps updating the SmartGlass application with bug fixes and other enhancements. The latest update brings one important improvement, and that's the fact that users in 19 countries can now stream live TV from an Xbox One with a supported USB TV Tuner.

Another important new feature would be the addition of the power on/off command, which will allow Xbox One owners to turn on/off their console from within the SmartGlass application.

Obviously, some under-the-hood enhancements and bug fixes have been implemented as well, but Microsoft did not share any details on any of them.

These are all the changes included in the latest update for Xbox One SmartGlass, but Microsoft confirmed plans to add more new features and improvements in future versions, including the ability to search, browse, and pin content to play on the Xbox One console, along with the option to track achievements.

If you don't have the application yet, you can now download Xbox One SmartGlass for Windows Phone 1.0.7.6 for free via Windows Phone Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
