Microsoft has just confirmed it will update the Remote Desktop Preview application for Windows Phone devices with new features and improvements that will further enhance the user's overall experience.

According to the developers, one the most important new features included in this update should be the integration of Cortana into Microsoft Remote Desktop Preview.

This means that users will be able to take advantage of voice commands in order to connect their phones to the desktop. For the time being, the following voice commands will be available for users: Remote desktop connect to <display name> and Remote desktop to <display name>.

Another new feature that should pop up once you update to the latest version should be the fact that the application will now be able to successfully prevent smartphones from locking while they are connected to the desktop via the application.

Basically, this means that Microsoft Remote Desktop Preview users will be able to monitor their PCs over an extended period of time without fear of locking.

Keep in mind that you should be able to download Microsoft Remote Desktop Preview for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. The latest update should be uploaded sometime today, so make sure you check for it from time to time.
