Microsoft's Remote Desktop application enables users to connect to a remote PC from their smartphones, while on the move.

It provides users with access to remote resources through the Remote Desktop Gateway, as well as secure connection to data and apps. The Remote Desktop app offers seamless audio and video streaming, as well as support for Azure RemoteApp.

The Windows Phone version has just been updated with a few new features and improvements meant to further enhance user experience.

According to developers, the latest version of Microsoft Remote Desktop features the ability to connect through a Remote Desktop Gateway configured without trusted certificate.

In addition, Microsoft also added the ability to connect through a Remote Desktop Gateway using a custom port by adding [:port] after the gateway name.

Last but not least some bug fixes and other improvements have been implemented as well, but no additional details have been shared. We expect more new features and improvements to be added in future update, so stay tuned for more on this one.

If you don't have the application yet, you can now download Microsoft Remote Desktop for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1 and up.
