Microsoft announced yesterday during its IFA 2014 press conference three new Windows Phone handsets: Lumia 730 Dual SIM, Lumia 735 and Lumia 830.

While demoing some of Lumia 730/735’s front-facing camera capabilities, the company has confirmed that it will launch a special application that will allow Windows Phone users who own Lumia smartphones to take better selfies.

The so-called Lumia Selfie app comes inside the Lumia 730/735, so there’s no need to download it anymore, but those who wish to take advantage of what the application has to offer should head over to Windows Phone Store.

It took Microsoft less than a day to release the Lumia Selfie, which provides users with options such as fine-tune, high quality effects and the possibility to share right from within the application.

Keep in mind that Lumia Selfie replaces the current Glam Me application, so if you own a Lumia smartphone and download the new app then you find the latter.

It’s also worth mentioning that Nokia Lumia 820 owners will have to update their smartphone’s software to version 1232.5951.1249.0000 or later to use this application.

You can now download Lumia Selfie for Windows Phone 3.0.2.3 for free via Windows Phone Store. The application is exclusively available to Lumia smartphones powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
