14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft announced last month that it would bring Cortana to Android and iOS devices this year. In fact, the Redmond-based company promised that Android phones would get Cortana by the end of June, while iPhones would get it later this year.
Well, it looks like Android users will have to wait a bit longer, since Microsoft has just announced that, beginning July, the beta of the Cortana app for Android devices will be available to test as a companion to Windows 10 PCs.
“We announced earlier that your Windows 10 experience includes Cortana. To extend availability to a multitude of devices, we announced the Cortana app will be available soon for Android phones and iPhones, working as a companion to Cortana on your Windows 10 PC,” explains Microsoft in a blog post.
Android users who plan on using Cortana app will be pleased to know that they will be able to ask the digital personal assistant to remind them of various tasks they plan on doing each day. Cortana will also answer questions using the same natural language, regardless of which device you're on.
It's also worth mentioning that Microsoft announced Cortana would be available on Windows 10 at launch in select markets, so depending on your region you might or might not be able to take advantage of the digital personal assistant.
