Starting today, a new smartphone from Micromax is available for purchase via leading outlets across India, none other than the Micromax A72 Canvas Viva, which emerged at online retailers in the country only a few days ago.

The handset was officially announced with a price tag of Rs. 6,499 ($120 / €92) attached to it, a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 480 x 800 pixels resolution, and a 1GHz processor inside, fonearena reports.

Although it might sound like an appealing device with the aforementioned large screen on the front, A72 Canvas Viva sports low-end hardware specs, including a 3MP camera on the back, VGA front camera for video calling, and 256MB of RAM.

It also offers 110MB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, 2000 mAh battery, dual-SIM capabilities, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 3.0, no 3G capabilities, and Android 2.3.6 on top.
