Micromax is known among Indian users for promising Android updates, but until now the company has not delivered on these promises. Last month Micromax said it would offer new Canvas smartphones Lollipop updates, but did not provide more details.

Over the weekend, the Indian company teased another Lollipop update, this time for YU Yureka, a smartphone launched in January with CyanogenMod 11S, which is based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system.

The teaser consists of an image of the Android 5.0 Lollipop mascot made of dots. All the dots are numbered and the last one is 26, which suggests that the update may be available on March 26.

Micromax did not offer more specific details on the matter, but the picture is pretty suggestive about what the company plans for YU Yureka owners.

There are no details on what the update will contain aside from the new features and improvements specific to Android 5.0 Lollipop, but we expect Micromax to shed some light on release notes in the next few weeks.

Since YU Yureka runs CyanogenMod 11S, based on Android, it will be interesting whether or not Micromax will offer another version of CyanogenMod based on a newer version of Android such as Lollipop.
