Mobile phone maker Micromax is reportedly getting ready for the launch of an updated handset in the Canvas series, one that might arrive in the not-too-distant future as Micromax Canvas 2.2 A114.

No official confirmation on this device has emerged until now, but a leaked photo with its retail package is now available for your viewing pleasure, complemented by alleged hardware specs for the device.

Coming from @MMXNewscaster, said photo unveils that the smartphone will feature a 5-inch qHD IPS display, while being powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor.

Furthermore, Micromax Canvas 2.2 A114 should feature 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, and an 8-megapixel camera on the back, while being powered by a 2000 mAh battery. It might cost around Rs. 12,000 ($193/€140), micromaxcanvas.co.in notes.

Micromax is reportedly set to launch the handset with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean loaded on top from the beginning, and should tout it as an upgraded version of Micromax Canvas 2 Plus.
