The company says it managed to sell 10,000 devices at launch

South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics announced today that it has managed to sell over half a million Optimus G Pro units in its homeland country in the first 40 days of availability.

Furthermore, the company announced that it has managed to sell 10,000 units at launch, and that the overall sales of the device set a new record for it.

LG unveiled the Optimus G Pro with a 5.5-inch touchscreen display on the front, as well as with a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor inside, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot for further expansion.

Additionally, the handset was packed with a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, a 2MP front camera for making video calls, and Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on top.

As Engadget notes, the phone will receive a software update this month so as to offer a range of new features to its users.
