South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics is expected to bring its largest Android-based smartphone to the United States before the end of September this year.

Called LG Optimus Vu, the handset represents the company’s response to Samsung’s large Galaxy Note, and has sold over half a million units in its homeland market, South Korea.

In the United States, the phone will arrive with LTE connectivity inside, and is expected to become available via Verizon Wireless.

In fact, we’ve already heard a series of rumors regarding Optimus Vu’s arrival at Verizon, although nothing has been officially confirmed on this as of now.

However, LG did say that the 5-inch smartphone would be released in the United States before the third quarter of the year was over, and things might become official in the near future. Keep an eye on this space for more on the matter.
