Virgin Mobile customers might soon be able to purchase from their wireless carrier a new handset running under Google's Android operating system, namely the LG Optimus Slider, which is none other than the keyboard-enabled successor of the LG Optimus One.

Nothing has been officially confirmed on the matter for the time being, but the device already made an appearance in Best Buy's internal systems, which is seen as an indicator of an upcoming launch.

Apparently, the phone was spotted there with a price tag of $199.99 (around 147 Euros) attached to it, although the link to that page was not working at the time of this article.

The Optimus Slider has not been launched on Sprint's airwaves until now, yet Verizon introduced it as the LG Enlighten, and a near availability at Virgin Mobile is not something too far off.

At Best Buy, the Android-powered mobile phone featured the “coming soon” tag, but no specific info on when it is released emerged for the time being. Stay tuned for more.
