The old LG Optimus Chic launched by Bell more than a year ago is about to make its debut at Virgin Mobile, rumors claim.

The Optimus Chic is an entry-level Android smartphone, which should be available for free with a new long-term contract.

According to the guys over at MobileSyrup (via tipster), LG Optimus Chic should go live at Virgin Mobile this weekend or early next week.

The HSDPA-enabled handset comes with a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, 150 MB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).

The phone runs Google's Android 2.2 Froyo platform which is upgradable to Gingerbread, but I doubt it will get any major software upgrades at all, unless it's delivered with Android 2.3 at launch.
