Today, wireless carrier Sprint has officially announced the upcoming availability of the Kyocera Verve basic smartphone on its network starting with April 11.

The new device comes to the market with a sliding QWERTY design as well as with the usual alphanumeric keyboard on the front, and it should prove a great option to texters, the carrier notes.

Moreover, the new mobile phone will arrive with text-to-voice translation, which should make it a great option for vision-impaired users.

Kyocera Verve will be released at Sprint on Friday, April 11, in pink and gray colors, through all of the wireless carrier’s retail channels. It will be available for $0 upfront with $5.42 (€3.93) monthly repayments for 24 months.

Moreover, the carrier has announced that a blue flavor of the handset is planned to land on shelves at Boost Mobile on May 6, with a price tag of $49.99 (€36) attached to it.

Sprint also intends to make the new mobile phone available for purchase starting with May 13 on its payLo brand, named Kyocera Contact, and priced at $39.99 (€29).

The handset arrives with a 2.4-inch TN-TFT QVGA display, while featuring a 2-megapixel camera with 2x zoom and dedicated function key. Moreover, it includes Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate, via the 3.5mm headset jack, and speakerphone.
