Huawei’s most affordable quad-core smartphone, the Honor 3C Play, has just gone official. The device will be initially launched in China, but it will go on sale internationally as well.

According to GSMArena, the smartphone should soon be released in China for only 599 yuan outright, which is about €75 or $100. As mentioned earlier, the Honor 3C Play will also be available internationally, but the price may be slightly higher.

For those unware, this is the cheaper version of the Huawei Honor 3C smartphone, that’s one of the most popular Android smartphones in China. The Play Edition comes with slightly lower specs, but also cheaper price.

Unfortunately, Huawei Honor 3C Play will ship with an older Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. On top of it, the smartphone will run the company’s homegrown Emotion UI.

On the inside, the budget-friendly smartphone is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor, a Mali400-MP2 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

The device features no less than 16GB of internal memory, which is unusual for such a cheap handset. It also packs a microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB) and an impressive 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash, and video recording.

Moreover, Huawei Honor 3C Play offers dual-SIM capability, as well as a secondary 2-megapixel camera on the front and a decent 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.
