Huawei continues its push in Europe with the launch of a new entry-level Android smartphone, the Ascend Y 100. The smartphone is now available for purchase at O2 UK for £80 (130 USD or 100 EUR) on PAYG (pay as you go).

Furthermore, customers will also be able to grab this one for free with a new 24-month contract from £10 per month. The phone is not yet available online, but O2 is expected to arrive any moment now.

Huawei Ascend Y 100 is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and packs a low-performance 800 MHz single-core processor.

In addition, the smartphone sports a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display, as well as a sub-par 2-megapixel rear camera with video recorder. No other details on the phone’s specs sheet are available for the moment.
