The smartphone is expected to go on sale in April 2014

The sequel to the popular Huawei Ascend P6 is already in the works under the codename Sophia. The smartphone is rumored to hit shelves sometime in April 2014.

According to a leaked document sent to GSMArena, Huawei Ascend P7 will be equipped with a powerful HiSilicon Balong 910 chipset that accommodates a quad-core processor clocked at 1.6 GHz.

In addition, the smartphone is said to pack 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Another strong point of the Ascend P7 would be the 5-inch full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display. Furthermore, the device will come with support for LTE cat4 and will be powered by a high-capacity 2460 mAh Li-Ion battery.

Other highlights of the device include a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and LED flash, as well as an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

The phone is said to be made from “exquisite materials” and will run Android platform with Emotion UI 2.0 on top.
