HTC One has yet to receive the promised Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update at Verizon, and the Taiwanese handset maker has just announced it will offer another major upgrade in the coming months.

Jason Mackenzie, head of HTC USA, has just confirmed that the HTC One will receive the recently announced Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade “within 90 days.” Moreover, the HTC One Google Play Edition will get the update “within 15 days.”

For the time being, it's unclear whether HTC will skip Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for Verizon HTC One, so that owners can upgrade straight to KitKat in the next few months.

However, we know for sure the HTC One will receive the highly anticipated update at all major carries in the United States.

Obviously, it's a bit too early to talk about exact release dates, but we can safely assume HTC will offer more details on Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade schedule close to release. Stay tuned for more info on this one.
