Google had to offer its technical approval yesterday

HTC One M7 and One M8 Google Play Editions owners must be furious by now, as Google has been delaying the highly anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop update for these devices for a few weeks now.

Although GPE smartphones and tablets should be among the first devices to receive major OS updates, the HTC One M7 and One M8 have been hit to a few delays in the last few weeks.

Even though the Lollipop update should have arrived last week, HTC announced that Google delayed the upgrade due to some issues and the Taiwanese company had to resubmit the build for another evaluation.

That happened pretty fast but Google has yet to offer the update its technical approval so that HTC One M7 and One M8 GPE smartphones could receive the update.

According to HTC’s VP of Products Mo Versi, Android 5.0 Lollipop update for One M7 and One M8 GPE smartphones should have received Google technical approval.

Unfortunately, the search giant has not provided this technical approval until now, but HTC’s exec claims his company expects Google to end the wait soon.

No ETA has been given, but there’s little chance that Android 5.0 Lollipop will still arrive on HTC One M7 and One M8 GPE devices this week.
