Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is expected to bring to the market a new flavor of the HTC One smartphone in the next two weeks, one that would run under stock Android, rumor has it.

The move would be similar to the one made by Samsung with its Galaxy S 4 smartphone, which has been already announced to hit shelves with vanilla Android loaded on top as soon as next month.

HTC has yet to officially confirm plans on the matter, but a recent article on Geek.com claims that multiple sources are saying that a pure Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean HTC One is set to be announced very soon.

What hasn’t been detailed as of now is the manner in which HTC and Google plan on selling the device. The same as the vanilla Galaxy S 4, the smartphone might be sold through the Google Play Store.
