Basemark OS II is slowly becoming one of the most popular benchmark applications for smartphones, but that shouldn’t be surprising given the fact that it’s one of the few that allow comparisons between devices powered by different platforms.

Today, the first benchmark results scored by the HTC One 2014 in Basemark OS II have leaked online and suggest that the smartphone will be more powerful than any other mobile device now available on the market.

Thanks to its Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset that packs a 2.3 GHZ quad-core processor, HTC One 2014 topped the Basemark OS II benchmarking tool, beating the Asus PadFone Infinity 2, LG Nexus 5, Pantech Vega Secret Note and iPhone 5s.

The first three Android smartphones are each equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chips, which is one of the reasons they have been overpassed in benchmarks by the HTC One 2014.

The HTC One 2014 will be officially unveiled tomorrow, March 25. Moreover, the smartphone will go on sale minutes after it is introduced.

UK customers will be able to pick the phone via Carphone Warehouse, while HTC fans in the United States will be able to purchase it exclusively through Verizon Wireless. More details on the HTC One 2014 hardware capabilities will certainly be available soon after its release on the market.
