HTC is definitely planning to release its next flagship smartphone sometime next month. According to the latest hearsay, HTC will introduce the device in late February at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014, but this has yet to be confirmed.

There have been many leaks concerning the so-called HTC M8 or HTC One+, as many would refer to it, and most of them pointed to a fingerprint scanner being present on the back of the smartphone.

Today, new details that point in the same direction have surfaced online. The folks over at GottaBeMobile have just spotted an HTC M8 back case that presents a cutout for a fingerprint scanner.

The leaked picture shows that HTC plans to embed this fingerprint scanner in the upper part of the backside, right under the camera.

No additional info has been provided, but this should be enough to assume that HTC’s next flagship smartphone will indeed come with a fingerprint scanner.
