HTC Explorer is already available in the UK via Three, but Orange decided to carry the smartphone as well. The device will soon be available for £149.99 (175 EUR or US$240) with a £10 (11.5 EUR or US$ 16) top up on PAYG (pay as you go).

However, the smartphone will also be available for free on select contracts within the next few weeks, the folks at SoMobile claim.

Those who didn't order one from Three UK and are willing to wait for Orange to go live with HTC Explorer should know that this is a budget-friendly Android smartphone that comes with Gingerbread on board.

The handset is equipped with a 600 MHz processor and packs only 90 MB storage, 512 MB of ROM, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
