14 DAY TRIAL // The affordable HTC Desire 500 has finally arrived in the UK. The smartphone is now exclusively available for purchase via Carphone Warehouse for £180 ($290/€215) on PAYG (pay as your go).
However, customers can also grab the Desire 500 for free on select 24-month plans starting at £15 ($24/€18). The Desire 500 is a decent smartphone and its only downside seems to be the fact that it ships with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean platform out of the box.
Other than that, the Desire 500 comes equipped with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, an Adreno 203 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.
It also packs 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card. An 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording is included as well.
