Following the official unveiling of the flagship HTC One M8 earlier this week, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has introduced another Android-based device, in the form of HTC Desire 316.

The handset has been announced in China as an entry-level smartphone with CDMA connectivity packed inside, as well as with support for GSM networks for International roaming.

The HTC Desire 316 was rumored only a few weeks ago, when it was said to hit shelves as a Desire 516 variant. Given its CDMA capabilities, the phone is expected to be released on the network of China Telecom.

The new device has already emerged on HTC’s Chinese website, where it was listed with a qHD (960 x 540 pixels) touchscreen display, as well as with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor packed inside.

Moreover, the new handset features 512MB of RAM, along with 4GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot to allow users to add some more storage space to it.

The aforementioned listing also unveiled a 5-megapixel camera on the back of this device, along with a VGA front camera, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and built-in GPS receiver.

Moreover, HTC made revealed that the new entry-level came with a 1950mAh battery packed inside, and that it ran under the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system.

As AndroidOS notes, HTC Desire 316 will be launched in Black and White color versions, and will also include Blinkfeed, the HiDi voice assistant, and a series of China-specific services. What remains to be seen is whether it will arrive in other markets around the world as well.
