Computer maker HP is reportedly planning the unveiling of a smartphone as soon as next week, and could release it on shelves at a $200 (€147) price point.

The mobile phone is said to be intended for emerging and pre-paid markets, but might sport a large touchscreen display, similar to that of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 Lite, a recent article on 9to5 Google reads.

HP has been long planning the launch of smartphones, and CEO Meg Whitman confirmed this back in 2012, suggesting that there’s still room for more players on the market, although companies like Samsung, Apple, LG, HTC and others dominate it.

No specific details on the upcoming HP smartphone have been provided as of now, but rumor has it that it could boast a 720p resolution and a low pixel density. Hopefully, more on the matter will emerge soon, so stay tuned.
