The tablet has been tipped by HP India’s Ketan Patel

Android fans in India rejoice, HP plans to launch its latest tablet powered by Google’s operating system, the Slate 7. The tablet has yet to be officially confirmed, but one of HP’s officials has stated the company plans to release the Slate 7 in India.

According to Tech2, Ketan Patel, director consumer product category, HP India, has confirmed that the Slate 7 tablet will be launched in the country soon: “Slate 7 has been included in product roadmap of HP India.”

Although there are no details on the tablet’s price and launch date, we can expect that the HP Slate 7 will arrive in India in the next couple of weeks and will be priced under $200/€150.

For those unfamiliar with HP Slate 7’s specs sheet, the tablet comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box and packs a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor, along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.
