The Android community is ever expanding, with over 700,000 devices being activated daily, and Google is finding new ways of keeping users close.

The company has been naming new Android releases after sweets, something that started ever since the release of Android 1.5 Cupcake, but there’s more to it.

This year, they brought Santa to Mountain View, and came up with a video to say “Happy Holidays to everyone in the Android community!”

As if that weren’t enough, Google also decided to bring snow to its campus, and did so successfully (though we’re not sure for how long it actually lasted there).

The bottom line is that they wanted to bring a bit of joy to the Android community and that wishing people Happy Holidays in an unusual manner seemed to be a good idea.

Have a look at the video embedded above to receive good thoughts from the Android team over at Google.
