It looks like the first rumors about the upcoming release of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich source code have just emerged.

According to Notion Ink's Rohan Shravan, Google plans go live with the Ice Cream Sandwich source code on November 17.

17th is when we are expecting ICS to be finally out with the source, and then you will see whole community (aka TabletRoms) and NI pushing in ROMs with different flavors.”

The rumored launch date for the operating system's source code seems to be in line with Samsung Galaxy Nexus European launch which is scheduled for November 17 as well.

This is exciting news, as several handset manufacturers already confirmed they will deliver the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in early 2012.

Motorola also stated that it will announce new Android 4.0 devices, six weeks after Google deploys the latest version of its mobile platform.
