Google has made available for download an updated iteration of its Google Play Music application for Android devices, in the form of version 5.6, which brings along some interesting changes.

According to a recent article on Phandroid, the updated application release comes with a series of design tweaks, although it hasn’t been brought in line with the Material design spotted in Android L, at least not as of now.

Another change in the new app flavor is the fact that users will be able to add only 5 phones to their accounts (which enables them to share music on all of them).

Previously, Google Play Music made no discrimination between smartphones, tablets, and other devices, but it seems that things have changed in the new release, and that each product will fall into a certain category.

When it comes to visual changes in the new app version, users will see that the sidebar menu has been modified a bit, with a Download Only toggle, account switcher, and support for Android TV included.

The Google Play Music 5.6 for Android application is said to be already rolling out to users, yet its official page in the Google Play store hasn’t been updated to reflect that, at least not as of now.
